Foreword – Minister for Tourism, Sport and Major Events, Steve Dimopoulos

On behalf of the Victorian Government, I’d like to welcome you to the 2024 Gippsland Rally, the fourth round of the Motorsport Australia Rally Championship.

This is Australia’s premier off-road motor rally competition, and we’re proud to support this event through our Significant Sporting Events Program, which helps organisations to deliver national, international, or regionally significant sporting events.

Since the Program’s inception in 2010, it has secured more than 975 events for Victoria, keeping local businesses busy, hotels and shopping strips bustling and our economy strong.

These events also help maintain Victoria’s place as the sporting capital of Australia.

Already three rounds down in the Championship, the Gippsland Rally will be crucial in shaping the leaderboard as we head towards the final rounds, ensuring some intense racing action.

The three exciting days of racing will take our nation’s best rally drivers in and around the forests of Heyfield in the heart of Gippsland.

This picturesque part of Victoria will provide an amazing backdrop for the rally, even if our drivers may be going a little too fast for them to properly enjoy it.

There are so many things to see while you’re here, including our world-famous Gippsland lakes and forests and please explore the sights and sounds of the many towns that dot the course routes.

For visitors to our wonderful state, I encourage you to also explore the many attractions and wonderful food and wine options Gippsland has to offer.

I wish you all the best for your time here.
